Lockdown Labyrinth

Gouache on cold pressed paper, 240 x 320 mm

During the Covid-19 pandemic my family and I started to spend a lot more time in
natural spaces. We found, like many others, that these ‘chlorophyll baths’ considerably reduced our anxiety and cabin-fever. The random untouched chaos of the curling, entwined foliage and trees was in parallel with the labyrinthian maze of the lockdowns. However, the moments of togetherness within the natural environment provided a sanctuary of hope as we moved through uncertainty.
